I actually like InstallShield Professional better than InstallShield Premier mainly because the Premier needs to be bought to fully enjoy its features while on the other hand, Professional requires download only to fully enjoy its features. This two projects' features are just the same for me but still, I choose Professional because it's more practical.
This is the only tool that our software company trusts when it comes to making software packages and installers. This tool is very flawless especially when creating WSA and UWP packages and making MSI and EXE installers. It is no wonder that this tool is installed in 500 million servers and PC because they are really reliable.
Great. great install shield and good to solution error and other application
Where can I buy it?. I did download the trial version that I needed to recover from projects made with IntallShield 8.0. My version 8.0 is not running anymore and I cannot reinstall it with service pack 2 that is no more available, so it cannot reload my projects with it, but version 11 can. However, my problem is: how can I buy it and where? When I click to buy it, I go to the Flexera site that commercializes only InstallShield 2010 Express and Pro. The Express version cannot reload my projects saying they are not made with Express and the Pro version is much more than what I need and way too expensive. Pros: Compatible with earlier versions with almost the same interface. Cons: Appently not commercialized anymore.
Avoid InstallShield if at all possible. - Non-Intuitive UI for creating installers. Very difficult to make installers with large amounts of files- Bloated installers. Installers are very large.- Many defects.- Knowledge Base missing a lot of information- Support does not respond to email requests in a timely manner- Forums are not administrated on a consistent basis -- some issues go without answers for MONTHS- Scripting language is proprietary, clumsy and restrictiveIf you are thinking about buying this software, Don't. Ever. Seriously. There are many other solutions that are much cheaper and have better support. Pros: None. Cons: See above
